Jasper is a variety of Chalcedony which is a microcrystalline variety of Quartz that comes in a variety of colors and can found around the world. What makes Jasper so interesting is the amazing range not only of the colors but the patterns that can be found, often depicting a scene found in nature, sometimes even similar to the environment where it is discovered... a desert landscape, a mist over a small pond, poppy fields, a green forest, a stormy sky.. scenes that spark our imagination. Many are named for the regions where they are mined; others are named by those who discovered them. Though far too extensive to cover here, we will mention a few that we incorporate into our designs and will try to update this as we introduce new varieties.
Its name is derived from the Greek iaspis, meaning “agate,” the Assyrian ashpu, and the Hebrew jashpeh. Historically, Jasper is traceable to all ancient peoples and civilizations. Worn by shamans, priests and kings, it was considered sacred and a powerful protection stone, for both the physical world and in the spiritual realm. Amulets of Jasper were carved by the Egyptians with symbols and inscriptions from the Book of the Dead and buried with mummified remains for safe passage in the after life. It was highly utilized in many cultures for engraving cylinder seals, signet rings, and special talismans depicting astrological and religious images
Jasper consistently is thought to be the stone of grounding and stability, providing comfort and security, strength and healing. It is also thought to enable one to be more present in the physical body and conscious of Nature and ones surroundings.

Also called “Poppy Jasper” This beautiful rich red Jasper has beautiful patterns that sparks our imaginations. It is thought to be a particularly good grounding stone which can assist those who feel overwhelmed. It can enhance organizational abilities whilst helping in developing creativity. It is also thought to encourage empathy and assist with communication with animals and can help with allergies to animals. Promotes health, healing and recovery from illness
Imperial Jasper
Jasper, and most particularly Imperial Jasper, have a strong tradition in Judaic lore, where it is one of the twelve sacred stones used to denote the Imperial families or tribes of Israel. It is said to occupy a position on the High Priest's breastplate and is the first foundation stone of the walls of the heavenly city. It also therefore symbolizes the first of the twelve gateways into heaven.
The tribe it was associated with was Naphtali which means "obtained by wrestling with God" and Naphtali was symbolized as the running deer, set free by God and blessed. Within Judaic law and also early Egyptian lore, Jasper means "to polish", prevailing power, and strength. Polish in itself means to make smooth or glossy by friction

The Patterns of the Leopard Skin Jasper resemble a leopard's spots. It is thought to Reduce anxiety and helps onedeal with heavy stress. Leopard skin jasper (also called leopard stone) is a stone of shamanic journeying. It also aids in service to others. It helps discover and connect with one's animal totems or "power" animals. It makes it easier for one to take responsibility properly. Helps with creative visualization. A beautiful patterned jasper including colors of Red, Golds, Greens, Yellow and ruby tones. Also known as Orbicular Jasper it can have concentric rings of colors that encouraged the belief of its extra protection...resembling the overseeing “Eye” protecting one from any “evil eye”. It is also thought that these circulars patterns in the ocean jasper symbolize and help us realize that we are all interconnected and nature is a cyclical pattern. Ocean Jasper is very soothing and helps us to love one's self as well as others. It is very healing of emotions and brings peace of mind. It helps with acceptance of responsibility and increases patience. Physically, ocean jasper is beneficial to the digestion, digestive organs, removing toxins, and lessening body odor. This Taupe, to Golden Brown Stone is one of my favorites! The patterns of the minerals within the Jasper create beautiful landscapes. The visual as well as the physical effect of this stone is incredibly soothing. Picture Jasper is thought to encourage ecological awareness, bringing stability and balance. It contains a message and/or “picture” from the past. Picture Jasper is a stone of proportion and harmony and stimulates creative visualisation. It also is thought to neutralise radiation and other forms of environmental and electromagnetic pollution, rectify unjust situations and grounds energy.
