Tiger Eye
A form of Riebeckite.
A quartz replacement of crocidolite (blue asbestos) or gold asbestos. Different from cat's eye with regard to configurations of the fibers (twisted or crumpled instead of straight). The chatoyancy is due to reflection of light by the fibrous structure. Color range includes red, brown, gold, cream, black, and blue. Thought to synthesize the energies of the Sun and Earth.
