Tiger Eye

A form of Riebeckite.

A quartz  replacement of crocidolite (blue asbestos) or gold asbestos. Different from cat's eye with regard to configurations of the fibers (twisted or crumpled instead of straight). The chatoyancy is due to reflection of light by the fibrous structure. Color range includes red, brown, gold, cream, black, and blue. Thought  to synthesize the energies of the Sun and Earth. Encourages  practicality and discretion of mind, and optimism. Produces insight  in matters of mental dilemma. Enhances appreciation  for the pure and beautiful. Aids in courage and  perception regarding personal needs. Has been used in the treatment of the eyes and throat, and spinal column alignment

Tiger iron, sometimes called mugglestone, is a combination of hematite, red jasper, and sometimes yellow jasper or golden tiger eye. It is a grounding stone that also brings protection, especially protection from danger.
